An alternative or supplement to seeking Inpatient Psychiatric Treatment would be a Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient Program. These are often 6-8 hour days of individual and group therapy that meet Monday-Friday or several times a week. Generally, there are also meetings with a Psychiatrist for medication management as well as Social Workers for connecting to other resources. The length of time depends on the facility, sometimes asking for several weeks of attendance or longer. The benefit of this is the ability to continue your lifestyle to some degree rather than staying overnight in the hospital as you would in an Inpatient setting. Below is some information on facilities nearest my Maryland office:
Georgetown Partial Hospitalization Program (855-546-0618)
Adventist Partial Hospitalization Program (Rockville & Silver Spring) or Intensive Outpatient Program (866-643-5499)
Suburban Partial Hospitalization Program (301-896-2586)
Embark @ Cabin John Outpatient (301-987-7284)
